Over 300 guests attended the Cathay Bank 47th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Industry Hills Golf Club on May 7, with the event raising $228,000 to benefit the following community organizations:

  • Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center
  • Cathay Bank Foundation
  • Friends of the Chinatown Library
  • Herald Family Center Counseling Ministry
  • International Institute of Los Angeles (IILA)
  • Irvine Chinese School
  • No Limits for deaf children
  • Pacific Clinics
  • Taiwanese American Heritage Week

“We are immensely grateful for the incredible support from our clients, vendors and team members who were the key to our charity golf tournament’s success,” said Anthony M. Tang, Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Vice Chairman of Cathay General Bancorp and Cathay Bank. “The generosity displayed will help fund community initiatives impacting the lives of many, and we are honored to support such worthy causes.”

Jim Haney, Cathay’s Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, added, “the resounding success of this year’s tournament is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our supporters and sponsors. Together, we are effecting positive change in our communities, and we remain committed to this tradition of giving back.”
